Talke Schaffrannek leads the group “Applied Sustainability” at BASF SE in Ludwigshafen since 2014. In this position she is responsible for implementing the company’s sustainability strategy into the business activities. This also includes to apply “Sustainable Solution Steering”, BASF’s methodology to segment the product portfolio according to sustainability criteria and to support customers with consultancy projects including eco-efficiency analyses. Talke is also developing the Circular Economy (CE) strategy for BASF as well as working together with customers to implement CE projects around decoupling growth from resource consumption.
Talke studied International Business in Cambridge and Landshut and holds an Executive MBA degree from Mannheim Business School and Tongji University. She started at BASF in 2004 in a marketing function and was later responsible as a global product manager for coatings raw materials. Before joining the corporate sustainability team, Talke went to China for over 3 years where she was leading the Asia Pacific team of market developers to create solutions across BASF’s business units and industries.
