GPCA PlastCon 2013 will also feature awards for ‘Excellence and Ideas in Plastics Conversion’ and one award for ‘Student Talent in Plastics’. Entries or nominations can be made for all achievements, improvements or ideas in:

- Plastic processing and conversion
- Plastic products
- Supporting products and processes

For example:

• Plastic packaging and consumable goods
• Plastic production in building and construction and industrial applications
• Superior plastic products and processes contributing to sustainability and eco-friendliness
• Plastic machine suppliers including toolmakers, mold makers, and processing aid suppliers
• Compound and masterbatch producers
• Design companies and IT companies
• Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)

Prizes

Prize winners of each category will receive:

1. The GPCA Plastics Innovation Awards trophy
2. The GPCA award winning certificate
3. Advertisement with a short company profile in “GPCA Insight” newsletter
4. Feature on GPCA awards’ website with company profile and link
5. Intensive publicity including the GPCA publication media with the awardee company’s details
6. One year free membership to GPCA (for companies/ corporates)
7. Fiscal prize of AED 10,000 for the winner of “Student Talent in Plastics”

Awarding criteria: “Excellence and Ideas in Plastics Conversion”

• Innovation: Novel solutions on marketing in the Middle East market, new applications for efficiency improvement and new technologies
• Excellence and creativity in technology and chemistry of plastics conversion
• Excellent products or applications using raw material produced from the region
• Local focus on the socio-economic development of the region
• Economic impact and growth prospects for the entrant’s company
• Sustainability and social responsibility for the environment and society of the region

Awarding Criteria: Student Talent in Plastics

Excellent achievements of individual students and/or teams at universities, research institutes or academia

• Excellent achievements in students‘ research projects, publication in referred journals, patents etc.
• Measurable track records in exams and diploma
• Recommendation from faculty members

How to enter

If you have any products or processes in plastic conversion that are new, outstanding and differentiating, we invite you to submit an entry form (English, Arabic)

Fees

• Entry fees for a entrant (commercial company):
First entry: AED. 2,000/-
Each additional entry: AED. 500/-
• There are no fees for: Universities, institutes (non-commercial), NGOs, students and trainees
